The City of Chicago
and the Chicago Police Department respect
your First Amendment Rights.
It is our honor and our responsibility to
protect your right to demonstrate
and speak freely today in a
reasonable time, place and
manner which ensures public safety
-- yours as well as others.
Public safety is our primary concern.
THE CITY HAS GRANTED A
PERMIT FOR THIS PARADE
WITH CERTAIN CONDITIONS,
WHICH MUST BE STRICTLY
FOLLOWED. PLEASE REVIEW
THESE RULES, FOLLOW
THEM AND FOLLOW POLICE
DIRECTIONS AND ORDERS.
You have a permit to assemble
in the lot of Ogden School
(Walton & State Streets)
beginning at 6:00 p.m. Shortly before
7:00 p.m., police will direct
the floats east on Oak Street and then
into the southbound lanes
of Michigan Avenue, with marchers
following BEHIND.
You must follow BEHIND the
floats and cannot walk alongside of
or in front of or interspersed
with the floats.
We will block off the southbound
lanes of Michigan Avenue only;
the northbound lanes will
remain open to traffic.
At Wacker, turn west to
Clark and proceed south to Washington,
where the parade ends. You
must arrive at the end of the route
by 8:00 p.m.
There is no stopping or
standing along the route. You must keep
walking. Parade permits
are for continuous routes.
You must obey all police
directions and orders along the way.
Please remember that your conduct
will affect everyone in the parade
today. Please have a safe
march.
